Dr Aniqa is passionate about providing holistic care to the older people which stems from a deep-rooted belief in ensuring their well-being extends beyond medical treatment.

Having worked in various settings including nursing homes and GEM@Home, she is dedicated in delivering care that not only addresses medical needs but also promotes safety and enhances quality of life within their own environments. Her focus areas include mitigating fall risks and have interest in providing care to people with dementia. She also facilitates open discussions about goals of care and future planning with her patients while attending to their values and preferences and tailoring their care accordingly. As a multilingual practitioner fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi, she strives to bridge any communication gaps, ensuring every patient feels understood and empowered in their healthcare journey.

Dr Aniqa’s journey in geriatrics began with training at Austin Hospital, Northern Health, and Western Health, where she also developed a keen interest in peri-operative medicine while collaborating closely with surgeons to reduce peri-operative risks for geriatric patients.

Dr Aniqa is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Outside of work, she can often find her enjoying the tranquillity of trail walking, a passion that rejuvenates her for the challenges and joys of geriatric care.
